Hi! My name is Sarah Catterall, and I'm a 17 year old film enthusiaist and student. Ever since I was as young as five, I can remember "playing movies in my head", when my mom wouldn't let me actually watch any more films. I would memorise episodes of Clifford (the big red dog) or Blue's Clues, and play the episode over in my head.
As a pre-teen I didn't realise that my daydreaming was only another form of the "movies" I watched in my head as a child. Whenever I dream, there are cuts and angles and pans, etc...just like in a film. And often, I start my daydreams over again or rewind them if the story needs to altered.
In 2014, I moved from Seattle, WA to where I currently live, in good ol' Sheffield, England. When I first moved here, I didn't have any friends...so I literally would come home and watch t.v. or films every night for fun. So basically, films are life and can replace friends in extreme situations (shout out to my real life frands tho, I love you).
If you think that's weird, well, that's me -weird. So odd that now, I'm starting a film blog to show my progression through time as I improve my filmmaking skills, gather information, and occasionally, review films.
My motives for doing this blog are simple: 1) I want to be the best at what I do, 2) I want to keep track and see how I've improved, 3) to learn from others on the interweb, and 4) I just really love films. Hopefully, I won't become a complete potato and not publish another blog post...
If you want to see the original blog that inspired me to start keeping a recreational blog (that I was forced to write) for my Silver Arts Award, here's a link: http://sarahfilmforthought.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1
